December Round Up

When you shop at the Co-op this month you will have the opportunity to donate to the North Valley Community Foundation’s Camp Fire Relief Fund. NVCF has been a cornerstone of the community for years. In the wake of the Camp Fire, they have been an excellent coordinator and clearing house for relief resources. We are proud to partner with them and provide shoppers with an opportunity to contribute to Camp Fire relief efforts.

Turkeys, Donations, and Giving Thanks

Dear Butte County Community,

Even though we are in the midst of dark times, our community has truly shown resilience, care, and compassion for each other. You have overwhelmed us with generosity through incredible donations and scores of volunteer hours over these past 12 days! 

While we continue to support those in acute need with hot soup, coffee, and a safe gathering space, we have begun to shift our focus to long term needs for the community. With your help, we have secured over 50 pallets of food and supplies for those displaced from their homes and found space to safely store and distribute these goods into the future, even after the fires are out and the headlines fade. We will continue to keep you apprised of opportunities to receive help and to help others.

Thanksgiving will undoubtedly be different this year. Many of us will be welcoming more friends, family, or even strangers to our Thanksgiving tables. We want to help by supplying your turkey. When you spend $150 or more this week, your co-op will give you a free organic turkey.

Yes, we're a grocery store, and we hope you will shop with us. But we're also a co-op and that means community is at the heart of everything we do. Come in and find your community holding you strong as we heal together.

For one week only, you can get a free turkey when you make a qualifying* $150 purchase at the Co-op!

Once again, the Co-op is working with Diestel Family Farms to provide Thanksgiving turkeys. Their commitment to the ethical, environmentally sustainable farming practices makes them a great company to partner with. You can be confident that your Diestel turkey will be the delicious centerpiece of your Thanksgiving meal.

What’s the deal?

From November 14th until November 21st, any Co-op shopper that makes a qualifying $150 purchase at the Co-op will be able to reserve a free Organic turkey from Diestel. That’s it, there’s no catch! We’ll do our best to provide you with the size of turkey you request, but availability is limited!

Call in and reserve your turkey today, and be sure to stock up on the best food in Chico at the Co-op from November 14th - 21st!

*Qualifying purchases exclude ownership dues, gift cards, and turkeys. Total purchase must be equal or greater than $150 after any discounts are applied.

OCTOBER ROUND UP

Owners: Meet the $2,000 match and build our Cooperative Community Fund!

In order to celebrate Co-op Month, CNFC’s October Round Up recipient is our Co-op Community Fund. The Co-op Community Fund is an endowment that will provide a long-term source of funds that our Co-op can use to support local non-profit organizations.

We're also honored to be receiving additional matching challenges from some of our cherished cooperative partners. Frontier Co-op (source of many wonderful spices, herbs, and teas), Organic Valley (a dairy farmers' cooperative), and The National Cooperative Bank have all worked together to pledge an additional $1,000 to the Co-op Community Fund.

We want to thank these fantastic organizations for so wonderfully embodying the sixth cooperative principle: cooperation among cooperatives. Together, we can accomplish so much!
