Do you want to be more involved in your community? Do you want to be a leader of a vital, important local business? Do you love local food, organic agriculture, and democracy? If the answer to those questions is "yes", then you might be an excellent fit for the Chico Natural Foods Cooperative's Board of Directors (BOD)!
Am you eligible to run for the Board?
To run for the Co-op's Board of Directors, you need to have been an owner for at least six months prior to the election. That means that you would have had to make your first investment in the Co-op on or before October 6, 2017. You must also be an owner in good standing (i.e. not past due on renewal).
What does being a Director mean?
The Co-op's Board of Directors is responsible for ensuring that store management carries out all of the cooperative's activities in accordance with the wishes of the owners. The official description of Board roles and responsibilities can be found here.
The Co-op is currently accepting applications for BOD Candidates. Candidates will participate in an election that will take place from April 13-27. You can find applications for the Board in the Co-op or online here.
